1) What is Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser?
Our system, RevLite® Laser is a next generation of Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser technology that has been studied in numerous clinical trials and approved by the FDA for successful treatment of pigmentation disorders. It utilizes PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse (PTP) to deliver very narrow pulse widths at peak energy to vibrate and fragment the pigments. In comparison to other Q-Switched Nd:YAG lasers, RevLite® Laser delivers the energy in its hallmark flap-top beam profile, without spikes or hot spots. This has enabled highly effective procedures with less heat and increased safety.
2) What skin conditions can be treated by RevLite® laser?
– Birthmarks (Nevus of Ota, Café-au-lait, Port-Wine Stains)
– Acquired Pigments (Melasma, Sun Spots, Aging Spots, Hori’s Nevus, Freckles)
– Vascular Lesion (Telangiectasia, Spider Nevi, Cherry Angiomas)
– Dermal Lesions
– Tattoo Removal
– Wrinkle Reduction
– Removal of Fine Hair
– Acne Scar Improvement
– Improvement of Oily Face
– Reduction of Pore Size With Smoother Texture
3) How is RevLite® Laser performed?
Most patients will feel the pulses as quick tingling sensations, like very tiny rubber bands snapped against the skin. For some procedures such as tattoo removal, the dark ink can absorb a larger amount of energy and a patient may feel some discomfort. In such case, anesthetic may be applied prior to the treatment for maximum comfort. The procedure usually lasts between 10 to 20 minutes.
4) Are there any downtime/ side effects?
RevLite® procedure is safe. There is a possibility of mild flushing that should resolve after 30 minutes. More obvious localized redness lasting a few days may occur with intensive treatments. Most patients can resume their daily routine immediately after the treatment. For removal of tattoo and superficial pigments, scabbing will form which will drop off after several days.
5) Any special care after the treatment?
Our doctor will discuss with you about post laser care plan. Generally, you should be gentle with your skin, keep it hydrated and apply sun block. We also recommend our proprietary MEDKARE Facial Wrap for added whitening and anti-aging result.
6) How many sessions of treatment do I need?
All pigments in general can be successfully treated only when a correct diagnosis is established. At IDO’S Clinic, our doctors utilize Advanced HD Digital Complexion Analyzer to appreciate the type and extent of your pigments. A customized treatment regime is provided. You may need anywhere from 2 to 6 treatments to see the results. Some deep lesions require more than 6 sessions. The treatment is repeated every 1 to 4 weeks.
